Specialized guides will take you to trips and walking trails or horse/bike rides, to the discovery of parks, natural reserves and caves of great interest always through routes expressly thought for you.
Parks and Natural Reserves of Marsica will amaze you with their countless landscape sights, and with the variety of fauna and flora that lives here in a scenery still far form the mass tourism.
For winter sports’ lovers Marsica offers the ski slopes “3 NEVI” between the resorts of Campo Felice, Campo Imperatore and Ovindoli that altogether have 60 km of slopes and 27 advanced facilities. The ski slopes “3 NEVI” represents the most modern and equipped skiing resort in the centre of Italy.
But Marsica is also Arts with its monasteries, convents sanctuaries and churches rich of masterpieces. In witness of its medieval past, there’s no shortage of castles and palaces fortified to defend the ancient villages.
Gold, ceramics, laces, iron… among the streets of villages and cities you will discover secular handicraft workshops preserved in time with love and devotion.
Wine, cheeses, pasta, sweets…. are only some of the typical products of this land, absolute protagonists of a traditional cuisine made of old tastes that will enliven your stay in Marsica along with a warm and welcoming hospitality to make your holiday even more peaceful.
Hereunder we suggest you whole days of visits and guided trips that you’ll be able to choose alternatively to the stay on the skiing facilities.
And in order to make your stay even more enjoyable we arranged for you theme nights with live music and tasting of local wine-and-food along the several paths of the visits.

Guided visit of Tagliacozzo, Sanctuary Madonna dell'Oriente, Beatrice Cenci’s Cave.
Literally the “crevice in the rock” Tagliacozzo has roots that date back to the XI century.
In its old city centre there’s Piazza dell’Obelisco defined one of the most harmonious of Italy, with houses of ‘400 and ‘500, the Palazzo Ducale (Ducal Palace) with its stylish renaissance structure, S. Francesco’s church with its cloister rich of frescos. Just outside the town there is the Madonna dell’Oriente Sanctuary, destination of pilgrimages that hosts the most ancient sacred image of Marsica probably dating back to the Byzantine age; annexed to the Sanctuary there is an interesting museum where is possible to admire archaeological finds, Byzantine icons, ecc.

Along the road that goes from Tagliacozzo to Cappadocia there is the Verrecchie Cave, well known with the name of Beatrice Cenci’s Cave (open in spring and summer).
It is possible to enter it through a passage that leads into a large elliptical room with a very high ceiling and on the right, a kind of arch borders a lake 80 metres deep.
Through a steel footway it is possible to go along the 250 metres of length inside the cave to admire a suggestive scenery
Return to Tagliacozzo, free time on hand.

A whole day at the discovery of the historical and naturalistic sights in a territory of rare beautifulness with visit of the most beautiful villages of the Park.

Gullies of Celano Aielli, visit of Celano
Day dedicated to the trekking in the Sirente-Velino regional natural park. The gullies of Celano Aielli, are the most known and frequented canyon of the central Appennino. The itinerary allows to admire an extraordinary environment: vertical walls, rich vegetation, waterfalls. Crossing the torrent la Foce we arrive to the Fonte degli Innamorati (Lovers’ Spring) whose water flows out from the ceiling of a cave.

In the afternoon visit of the town of Celano, ancient medieval village famous for its castle and because it gave birth to Tommaso, disciple as well as biographer of San Francesco di Assisi. Return to Tagliacozzo. Dinner and overnight.

Trip to National Park of Abruzzo Lazio and Molise
Whole day immersed in the wonderful nature of this Park with observation of the splendid chamoises.
Lunch break outside (included)
Afterwards visit of Pescasseroli, town in the heart of the Park. Return to Tagliacozzo. Dinner and overnight.

Stiffe Caves, S.Stefano in Sessanio
Guided trip to the Stiffe Caves with observation of the dolinas.
Lunch in a typical restaurant (included).
In the afternoon continuation for the visit of Santo Stefano in Sessanio, suggestive village entirely built with calcareous white stone inside the National Park of Gran Sasso.
Time permitting we will visit the remains of the ancient Sabine town of Amiternum and the catacombs of S. Vittorino.
Return to Tagliacozzo. Dinner and overnight.

Alba Fucens, S.Maria in Porclaneta Valley
Alba Fucens: its archaeological site points to the ancient roots; it had an economical and political importance during the roman empire; walking through the Via Valeria and the Via dei Pilastri (Pillars) it is possible to admire the Basilica, the Thermae, the Theatre and the Amphitheatre.
Lunch in a typical restaurant (included).
Continuation to S.Maria in Porclaneta Valley, jewel of the Romanesque arts dating to XI century; it is a benedictine abbey whose charm is due to its secluded position and to the artistic sights of its interior rich of marble masterpieces, Romanesque capitals and frescos of ‘300 and ‘400.
Return to Tagliacozzo, free time on hand. Dinner and overnight.
